Chris McComb

Each year, CII celebrates an academic whose support and contributions have an innovative and effective impact on CII efforts. The 2024 awardee is Professor Chris McComb, PhD from Carnegie Mellon University. A faculty member of the university’s Department of Mechanical Engineering – Chris’ research interests include human social systems, machine learning, and human-AI collaboration in design and engineering.

Chris has distinguished himself in CII as a principal investigator on RT-391: Defining Opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics Applications for AWP. The research successfully provided a seed list of future research areas for CII to explore as technology matures.
