Next Gen project delivery draws upon many years of learning and implementation of effective methodologies and practices (such as Advanced Work Packaging, Lean Construction, Project Production Management, and IPD) in an effort to better understand and holistically improve the project delivery experience.
This has evolved around the challenging and updating of several aspects of “conventional wisdom” to equip future leaders and their high-performance teams with new perspectives and processes to meet ever-increasing industry challenges and project delivery complexity. As it turns out, many of the key ideas emerging as Next Gen were developed and implemented on major projects, including Heathrow Terminal 5 and large micro-electronics projects, almost 25 years ago.
Let’s step back for a moment to understand how the ideas were implemented and what was learned. This promises to provide some keen insights in shaping Next Gen thinking and how it can be effectively deployed.
