Burcin Kaplanoglu
Burcin Kaplanoglu is Vice President of Innovation at the Oracle Industry Lab and Oracle Vertical Industries. He was selected for this award in recognition for his many contributions, innovations, and dedication to the construction and engineering industry.
Under Dr. Kaplanoglu’s leadership, industrial integrated project delivery (I2PD) is now front and center for all visitors to the Oracle Industry Lab. In the lab, every solution and experience demonstrates the value of integration to a common data environment and driving collaboration and faster, better outcomes. His lab has grown to serve several industries as an environment where Oracle, its customers, and technology partners can innovate together to incubate, validate, and demonstrate new solutions. It has become a place for collaboration and innovation.
Burcin earned his engineering Ph.D. in 2007 at Illinois Institute of Technology. Since 2008, he has been an adjunct professor at Northwestern’s McCormick School of Engineering, with a special focus on the Master’s in Project Management program. He has also earned a series of high-profile recognitions.
Kaplanoglu received Oracle Construction and Engineering’s “Let’s Build” award. Engineering News-Record’s Critical Path Podcast featured his work at Oracle Industry Lab, and in 2016 ENR named him one of the “Top 20 Under 40.” Building Design+Construction magazine named him an “AEC Innovator.” LinkedIn featured him in its “Top 5 Content Creators to Know” and recognized him as one of the “BuiltWorlds 2020 Mavericks” in the Technologists category.
