Alignment, Scope and Risk (Part 2)
Project Definition Rating Index
The PDRI is a powerful, easy-to-use tool for measuring the degree of scope development.
The PDRI identifies and precisely describes each critical element in a scope definition package. It also enables project teams to identify quickly the project risk factors related to desired outcomes for cost, schedule, and operating performance. By using the PDRI method, teams can capture mitigation action items and evaluate the completeness of scope definition at any point prior to detailed design and construction. CII offers PDRI for several types of projects.
- IR113-2, PDRI for Industrial Projects
- IR155-2, PDRI for Building Projects
- IR268-2, PDRI for Infrastructure Projects
- IR314-2, PDRI for Small Industrial Projects
- IR314a-2, PDRI for Small Infrastructure Projects
- FR-366, PDRI for Mining Projects
- FR-MLS-02, PDRIx for Manufacturing & Life Sciences
Project Risk Register
IR280-2, Applying Probabilistic Risk Management in Design and Construction Projects, Version 1.2
A comprehensive guide to probabilistic risk analysis, first to help organizations determine whether the probabilistic approach is appropriate for their projects, and, if appropriate, to help them implement it. The guide takes the user through the typical steps of adopting probabilistic risk analysis, from identifying risks to interpreting a probability distribution. The guide also provides an overview of the interactive risk register tool, also developed by the research team.
Lessons Learned
IR230-2, Implementation of Lessons Learned Programs
IR230-2 provides a Maturity Model Matrix and Self-Assessment Questionnaire to determine organizational effectiveness with respect to seven key lessons learned program characteristics. Also offers a Jump start Guide with recommended steps for the development of a program. A Transactional Work Flow Diagram serves as a roadmap for typical lessons learned transactions. Users can either develop a new program or use the tools offered here to integrate a lessons learned program into current work processes.
